Fitness classes at the Danvers YMCA cater to adults and seniors, providing a supportive environment for individuals of all fitness levels. These classes are designed to improve strength, flexibility and cardiovascular health through a variety of activities including yoga, aerobics and water based exercise classes. Experienced instructors lead the classes, offering modifications to suit different abilities and ensuring a safe, enjoyable workout. Whether participants aim to stay active, manage weight, or achieve fitness goals. YMCA fitness classes foster a sense of community and promote a healthy lifestyle in a welcoming environment.

Fitness Center Orientation
The Fitness Center Orientation is a complimentary service offered to all members ages 14 and up. This free, one hour session is designed to help you get the most out of your workout. During this session, our knowledgeable staff will guide you through the proper use of the fitness center’s equipment, including cardio and strength machines. You will learn how to safely operate each machine and adjust settings. This orientation is a great way to build confidence, ask questions, and start your fitness journey on the right track in a supportive environment.
Fitness Center Certification
The Fitness Center Certification is a required, complimentary service designed to teach our youngest fitness center members how to safely use the cardio and strength machines and adjust settings. Instruction on proper gym etiquette and lifting principles are an integral part of this certification. Youth ages 11-14 are required to complete this Fitness Center Certification and sign a Code of Conduct prior to working out.
Fitness Center Guidelines
Ages 10 & 11: Must sign a Code of Conduct and workout within arms-reach of their parent/guardian.
Ages 12 & 13: Must complete a Fitness Center Orientation, sign a Code of Conduct and may only workout in the Fitness Center from open to 5pm Monday through Friday, with no time restrictions on the weekend.
Non-Member and reciprocal member youth under age 14 are not permitted to workout in our Fitness Center at any time.
